I've been back from Africa for about two weeks now, but I have been the absolute worst updater ever. My apologies! And I doubt it'll get much better given that school is starting tomorrow, but I wanted to say a few things, talk about some ridiculous goals I have for myself, and then peace out to sleep for a bit!
Uganda
I stayed in Uganda for about 5 weeks and I miss it so very much! It was hard to leave. I'm hoping to post some entries from my travel journal so you can get an idea of what the trip was like for me. In the mean time, here are 4 photos to hold you over.
I helped with a lot of circumcisions...on adults...
I got a lot of love from a TON of children (just because I'm white)

I did a C-section all by myself (this is just a picture of me helping)
I spent a lot of time with my host family
Oh, and because I loved Uganda so much, I'm going back over my holiday break. Yeah. Crazy, I know.
School
Second year is supposedly the hardest and busiest year of medical school. Great. Not excited about that, but I've got a few more hours to slack off...
Goals
I think I want to do a June Challenge on steroids - like anabolic ones. I've got three main goals. And it's going to be hard. And I'm probably going to hate myself for doing this to myself, but I want to be fit and happy, like I was in June...ish. So, why is it like the June Challenge on steroids, you ask? Because I'm going to try to do this everyday this semester. Yes, friends. From tomorrow to December 13. I know it seems ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure I can do it...yeah, let's stick with the phrase "pretty sure." So, here's the goal list:
Are you ready for this?
- Go to the gym everyday and run at least a mile
- No dessert
- No alcohol
Gah. Even writing that out, I'm thinking to myself, "Self. This is going to be hard." But, I'm pretty sure I always take the harder path in life, mostly because I think some evil creature keeps switching the "Easy" sign for the "Hard" sign when I'm trying to make my decision on which path to take. Anyway, here we go again!
